d-7/7 = d+3/d-3

which yields d = 17

Well... i tried the using a similar equation. that gave me 17.

lets say distance betn temple and home is d.
find the ratio of their distance travelled. for 7 km its... (d-7)/7
next time when they meet, its 4 km... (2d-4)/(d+4)

solve the eqn... (d-7)/7 = (2d-4)/(d+4)
u ll get d=17
