    Re: QTP Repository

The reason why You are not find the tsr file is, When you recording the script may be the Object Repository is in per action mode (default mode). When OR is in peraction mode u can see the .mtr file only not tsr file. If you want to see the .tsr file then u can convert OR mode into shared action.

    Re: QTP Repository

when u record a test all the objects in that application is added by object repository automatically(by default) this is called local object repository

u cannot open object repository as a seperate as it is embedded into a test

if u want to store it as seperate file then its called shard object repository
which has extension of .tsr (but in pratical u can give any extension it accepts i tried by myself)

these shared object repository can be used by any test!!

Do you have any idea like how to convert per-action repository into Shared Object repository . I am using QTP 9.2 trial version. Please reply back.

    Re: QTP Repository

    Hey Stephen,

Use QTP Object Repostiory Manager and migrate all your objects from per-action repository to your new Shared repository.

    Cheers.

    Hey stephen...

u can change it in to shared repository...

Just open that action.... and open the object repository.

    go to File:Export Local Objects.

u will save dialog box..save the file in the specified location. it will save as .tsr extension(shared repository)
