My friend was questioned in an interview what are his leisure time activities. He did not have a useful one actually to focus and so he could not present answer to that questions well. Can someone suggest some of the activities for leisure time?

One can give some leisure activities which would match their job like reading books. Of course they should be able to name some books if they are asked for. So a general study on the area they are going to specify as hobbies is definitely needed to face the further questions if asked by the interviewer. Whatever may be the leisure activities they specify they must see to it that they are useful activities.
