Simple logic buddy ..See when u r automating an application why are you recording them ,ofcourse u can also do it descriptively but still we cant add objects to the repository for Checkpoints like we do for Descriptive programming ..isn't it ? So i think it doesnt work that way

It’s a valid question coz, while WinRunner doesn’t require us to be in recording mode to insert checkpoints, why does QTP want us to be in recording mode?
May be that, QTP sets the environment to record every time it is put in recording mode and it needs that environment to be active while inserting checkpoints as well.:D
