Re: Which system use to do load runner testing? production/ test system
Hi
I'm still new to the field of testing ..but reading shlomini's answer, i'm a little confused..how can we create generic Vugen Scripts?
What if the production url is different from test?Eg if it is "prod" and "QA.prod".
Do help with the clarification

There isn't much different if both your environmental setup are the same. Most likely its a different IP, eg. prod is 172.1.1.21 while QA.prod is 168.1.1.21. In this case, you have to parameterize the IP address of your scripts. If they are identified by hostname, it will be easier.
As shlomini mentioned, its what you want to achieve. Then create a generic script (mentioned above) that can work in the different environment. :)

Re: Which system use to do load runner testing? production/ test system
The Load Test should ideal happen on the environment that the application will be hosted on to (to-be- production environment).if the production enivronment is already set up then try testing on DR environment which likely in most cases replica of production. if not try get an environment which as very close to production. Never test on an environment which has specs higher than the production, then you cannot validate your results.
