    Cache table in Buffer Pool

Suppose a table occupies 1 GB physical disk space. If I want to cache the same table in Buffer Pool, Will it occupy the same 1 GB space or less. Because we can have very large disk space upto 400GB, but RAM space is limited only upto 6 GB.

Re: Cache table in Buffer Pool

Well -getting entire table to RAM is not a wise Idea unless the tables is small and accessed too frequently just to read. If the table undergoes frequent updation, then the cache needs to be re-built.

So- my recommendation increase the cache size for the server - let it do the caching for you - so do not try caching the entire table.
