Value of the file position indicator

What is the value of the file position indicator for non-empty QSAM file and VSAM relative files.Are the values different in each of these two cases. If so what are the exact values set?

Value of the file position indicator for non-empty QSAM file and VSAM relative files are different. They are as below:
1 for non-empty QSAM file
For VSAM relative files it is set to 1
