Re: Create Test Plan / Test cases From Business Requirement

Hi,

Business requirement document is the base document from which both the coding and testing will happen.

When requirement document is received the testers will be breaking into smaller parts in order to identify the possible number of test cases that can be written from that. After it is reviewed and approved, the estimation is done for total time needed for test case design, execution, defect retesting etc.,

By knowing the estimation the test plan is prepared which will have the various testing factors, timeline, schedule, the people to be involved, functional impacts, business processes impacts, objective of testing, test tools to be used, types of testing to be carried out, entry and exit criteria, test environment, etc.,

Before the build is deployed for testing, the test cases are written for the business requirements and got approved. During the execution period the test cases are executed and the results are updated.

This is how the test plan and test cases are generated from Req. document.

Regards,
Ganesan
