Re: What are all the fields present in object repository?

Hi, honestly it is a very broad question. But I guess you could frame your answer somewhat like this.

A object repository would basically consist of all the objects and their associated properties. This could be per action based or could be a global repository that could be associated with multiple actions.
Each object would have a type, property and value listed against it. These would basically comprise of the mandatory properties of the object.

Other fields that could be seen in an object repository would be as
    • configure value options - used to decide whether a property would have constant value or we could parameterize it.
    • an add objects button to add new objects to the repository.
    • a highlight button to ensure the existence of the object in the application under test.
    • an option to export the object repository to xml files.

I would still state that this is an abstract answer and we would not be able to address anything specific related to or.

    Cheers...

Re: What are all the fields present in object repository?

Action / Business Component - Enables you to select the action whose objects you want to view, or indicates that the current testing document is a business component.

Object repository tree - Contains all objects in the current component or in the selected action (all local objects and all objects in any shared object repositories associated with the selected action or component).

Name - The name that QuickTest assigns to the test object.

Class - The class of the object.

Repository - The location (file name and path) of the object repository in which the object is located. If the object is located in the local object repository, Local is displayed.

Test object details - Enables you to view the properties and property values used to identify an object during a run session

Re: What are all the fields present in object repository?

There are so many fields in the Object Repository dialog. Some of them area as follows:

Compact View, Undo- Redo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Find, Add objects to the Local, Update from Application, Define new Test object, Highlight in an Application, Locate in Repository, Object Spy and Associate Repositories, Filter option and classic Menu with the Pane showing the all Test Objects and the Checkpoint and Output objects nodes with their children objects for the corresponding Repository and the Right side of this pane we have Object properties and Test Object details panes are available.
These are the fields present in the OR dialog.
If want we can allobrate the answer by giving the description of each field.

Object repository stores things like logical name, properties (identification) etc. of an object.
