Hi All,

Q1:how can we identify that an application is developed on
web based or Asp.net based or vb.net based or sap or mainframes....?
if we have addins installed its okay.....if we dont have addins how can
we recognise it...?

Ex:- I have vb,web,sap,.net,activex,Java,webservices addins for my QTP
if u wanna make some recordings on geekinterview.com ...we try to record it.... but it could not find any steps recorded...
so how do u overcome this and ll try to find the solution ....tht we need particular addin for recording this application.

Is there any way where you can record the application irrespective of addins?

I am confused, that you tried to record geekinterview.com, and it's not recorded. It should recorded and even web add-in is sufficient for recording.

Re: Identification of Application type.......

Hi,

GeekInterview should defintely be recorded.

Do one thing. Use the Object Spy and try to read the Object Properties. Check if you are able to WebLink, Wed_Edit objects etc.

Incase you are able to, try to record the same and check the Object repository again.

It is kinda weird that recording steps are not being displayed.

Cheers..
