Loadrunner certification

Hi all,

I am into web testing for a famous web portal and am as a test engineer in a private company in chennai. I am using (VSTS) Visual Studio Team System to test web pages for both web testing and load testing. I would like to pursue a certification on Loadrunner tool. Can anybody suggest me the right way to get into it positively.

Thanks in advance,
Gopal.

Re: Loadrunner certification

Some things you may want to study up on:
VuGen:

4)Using the API to customize scripts
5)Parameterization (all types)
6)Command line arguements to the mdrv.exe process (type mdrv.exe into the start->run textfield) Also, in the loadrunn bin directory
7)web_set_sockets_option() there is much you can do with this one function
8)Earlier recording engine, new recording engine

Controller:
1)Scheduler
2)Monitor setup, best practices
3)IPSpoofer
4)Vuser Limits
5)ROFW, MOFW
6)MIListener

LoadGenerator:
1)How it communicates with the Controller
2)IPWizard
3)QTP, Winrunner setup
4)MOFW agent
5)mdrv.exe

Analysis:
1)Reading/Analyzing graphs
2)Merging graphs
3)Granularization
4)Web page diagnostics

LoadRunner:
1)How to setup the different componenets
2)How licensing works
3)Where do I create LoadGenerators/Controller/VuGen/Analysis?
4)How to determine the type of resources needed to perform a Load Test.

Good Luck....let us know if you have any tough questions.

Re: Loadrunner certification

I am preparing for AIS(Beginner level) HP Loadrunner certification and self preparing for the exam by going through the HP user guide and practicing on the tool. Can somebody(who has already taken the exam) tell me whether I need to read only about Web(HTTP/HTML) protocol or for all the protocols. Does the exam contain question only related to Web protocol.
Also, how deep study do i need to do for this exam.
Is going through the user guides by HP enough for the preparation?
Also please share some of the sample questions and the complete course material that can be used as guideline for the preparation.

Thanks in advance.

I'm currently located in Louisville, Kentucky. What is the URL where I can register myself for LoadRunner certification. What are the prometric centers available in my area.
