Scenario on Update strategy..?

Assume that mapping have Update Strategy Transformation where all rows are marked for ‘Update’. In session configuration, - “Treat Rows as” is set to “Insert” and target option is “Update (else insert)”. How Informatica will treat the rows?

Thanks in Advance

Re: Scenario on Update strategy..?

Generally, the transformation properties override by the session properties. So Mapping(transformation) property UPDATE won't work.
Session property will flag all the inputs rows as INSERT.
Then The TGT property UPDATE else INSERT then the PowerCenter Server updates rows flagged for update if it they exist in the target, then inserts any remaining rows marked for insert.

Sriram,

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs...
Finally you will say that - Update else Insert will work for this scenario.
