COBOL Program can't take more then 16 mega byte data

There were some changes in a copybook we increased the length and decreased the length of few fields. After changes the COBOL program can't able to take more then 16 mega byte data . Any one can help me out for this problem. I want to run this program which take more tn 16 mega byte data also.
