Save point in SQL

Save point in SQL

I know that commit makes changes to database records and rollback undo the changes made but what is the term save point means. Does it save all changes? Someone help me know about this concept.

It was a very good site which gave a very clear idea about save point and I tried out an example also. This link given helped me by saving my time searching for this term.
