    Relationship in Database

Among the relationship in database design namely one to many, many to many which must be avoided for having good database design. Is it that there are no restrictions like that?

The more relationships you'll have, the slower it will get to process. The simplier the better. Well offcourse, better said than done, seems most of the applications user requires 'complex report' and complex reports require many to many relationships, depending on the data model you have.
