Windows Vista

I have Widows Vista home premium as OS. I tried installing informatica but it gave me problems. There was no server installed. My frieds told me that we servers can not be installed at all in home editions. I have another system but that is also Windows XP home edition. Is there any way I can still do it???

Thanks in advance,
Morni
