iam wokring in j2ee(jsp,servlets and Ejb) and iam intrested to do certifications

but i dont know about certifications on java can any one suggest what is the
certification i have to write and which is the best book to prepare for certification on java.

please reply me.

u can go for SCJP1.6exam..infact it is latest version.Though i dont know whether any book has come in market or not as SCJP1.6 has been releasd by sun recently.
I gave SCJP1.5 exam last week and cleared it with 93%.
Best book is Katthy Sierra.Read that book properly, understand the topics their and i am sure you will clear the exam with good marks...

friends your suggestions are indeed valuable. from my side i personally congrat vmshenoy for clearing the exam. it is very kind of you that you are sharing your knowledge with us.

in continuation to the ongoing discussion about scjp. i have been myself doing some research about this particular certification. it has been suggested by vmshenoy that we should go for scjp1.6 certification which is indeed the latest.certainly it is a good idea to go for the same. however i havnt found any book for the Standard Edition6 and realized that there is limited online support for the same. the new certification also has a higher passing percertage. more importantly being a new certification we may not be familiar with the nature of the exam.
i was also comparing the syllabus for the scjp 1.5 certification and scjp 1.6 certification
and found them almost similar. i want to ask what is the differences between them. also considering the above mentioned points which one is preferable. please find time to reply.
