Client Server Technology - Is there any Drawback?????

Hi,
Recently I had a discussion with my friend about client server technology and we could figure out lot of advantages about the technology like cost, performance improvement and so on. But each knife has two edges, so we tried to discuss whether there are any disadvantages in this technology but could not figure out anything. But obviously there would be some. Can someone throw light on this?

Regards,
Blenda

Really an interesting way to think . I think reliability is one of the drawbacks in client server computing

Yes you are right. To add a brief explanation to this point as reliability is a drawback for client t server computing is the system is not maintained centrally like mainframe systems. But I think there would some more drawbacks in this technology and that is why we have mainframe technology takes its popularity in the same track.

But when we compare cost mainframe is little on the higher side when compared with client server technology. Is it not? So is it that we have to choose technologies like mainframes or client server technologies based on our needs like analyzing the security importance, user needs and so on.
