You are a mechanical engg. Even a graduate can also be a software tester by doing testing certification course, but how much you will grow later , I am not sure about it? Because a computer engg will definitely have the preferences.

Re: How testing tools useful for a mechanical engineer
Hi,
Software Testing is a career which has blossomed recently. There is no bondage or hard and fast rule as to who are eligible for being a software tester. The most important thing is that you should know as to what exactly is it. And if you are trying to learn from an institute, try to find out whether they give any placement assistance or not. Also try to learn as many programming languages you can in the meantime such as C, C++, SQL etc. The thing is the 2 year gap may come as an obstacle in your career path so I am telling you to do learn these, atleast. Bye and Take Care. Rajiv |
