    Microsoft SQL Server 2008

    Too All -

    I'm new to administering a SQL 2008 database; the question I have is can an offline database be backed up successfully?


    I have tried several times and I am unable to complete the backup successfully. However, I can successfully backup the DB when it's online.

    As far as I know all the files must be online for the backup to succeed.
