Thread: Does QTP support I.E 8 ?

Hello Friends,

I am not sure whether this was discussed early before or not.... I am having problem with QTP 9.2 with I.E 8.

I am trying to record a web application, but QTP 9.2 is not able to identify the objects. i tried identify using Spy, also using Object manager but no luck.

in addition to this i have disabled tabing in browser.

can anyone help me how i can record web applicaiton.

QTP 9.5 very much supports IE 8

i am facing problem to recognize objects in I.E 8 browser. can you please help me what could be the problem...

Please find the attached snap shot, the object spy recognizes as just winObject where ever i click on the web page.

I have been using QTP for several months now, first QTP vs 8.2 and now vs 9.0
In both cases I have had problems with IE. When QTP is running IE shuts down. Peviously I was using IE 7, now I am using IE 8, with the same behaviour.
Is there some variable that I have to enable/disable in order for this not to occur.
Does it have anything to do with the debugger running in MS Visual Studio?
