    Hi Pappa,

Normally if I was the interviewee I would answer "Since google is a website application, there are different ways of testing it, say for functionality perspective - does it comprehend with the standards of a certain website application and functioning correctly.

In terms of performance, can it manage Millions even Billions of users by the time a lot of users were accessing this website.

In terms of usability testing, does it tolerates easy-to-grab functionality, is it a user-friendly website since even children could access it for their homework.

It is much okay to start in a general way of answering like the types of testing to do then take each one of it in deeper thoughts to your interviewer.

    Re: Interview Question

In order to test any product, you need requirements first so that you have a baseline against which to validate the application behavior. Once you have the requirements, you can document what/how to test in the Test Strategy.
Now, How to test Google Application - It can be done Manually, with the help of Automation Tool, Load/Perf tested.
What to Test - Usability, Performance, Functionality Verification, UI validations, Security, Data, Hardware Constraints, Software constraints..List goes on.

When faced with such question you should explain the test process in general and ask the interviewee whether that is what the answer he was looking for. Else ask him/her to be specific with the question. there is no harm in asking for clarification.
