    Hello friend,

I would say Database testing (with excellent queries) is one of the best approach for reporting testing.

    hi Vijay,

You mean to say that you need to report pass fail criteria. Are you using any defect tracking tools. If not then start using MANTIS else BUGZILLA which is the best way to report bugs.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I agree with Godwin. Database validation is the best way to test the reports.
Also from front-end you can validate, Filter, Sort, Export & Print functionalities of any report.

If you don't have database access then try filtering data that would generate a report with less data and which you can directly validate with transaction data.

e.g. Suppose there are a few transactions for Purchase of Office Stationary dt.12-Feb-2010. You can generate a report for the date filter as 12-Feb-2010. Sytstem will generate the report only for the transactions dt.12-Feb-2010. It will be easier for you to validate the values coming in report with the actual values from transactions..

Please let me know if this sastisfies your query.

    hi friend,

Please be very specific in your question vijay, there are many types of reports. In general I have given some test condition to test reports may be this will be helpful to you.

Refer the below link, but note I may be missing some test conditions.
