As far as I know in mainframe testing is given below. I am not involved in mainframe testing but one of my friend said the below long back.

Mainframe : This is used to handle a bulk of simultaneous entries. Say for an example from 5 million to 6 million simultaneous entries. COBOL Programming language will help you out in banking.
