Post QC 10.0 installation problem

Hi, iam new to QC. I was trying to install Qc 9.2 on my vista 32-bit. But it was not compatible.

I have downloaded QC 10.0 enterprise edition and tried to install. Almost everything goes fine but when it comes to database connectivity , iam getting error "SQL invalid host or not running" though SQL is running in my laptop. I followed the instructions given in the guide. but, no use...

Please help me with this issue....

I want to install and use any version of QC in my laptop (Vista Home Premium)

thank you

i was struck up with this for last 3days

Re: QC 10.0 installation problem

Are you running SQL Server 2005? do you have sql server management studio installed? If you do, try connecting to the SQL instance to see if you can connect. If you can connect to the database instance using SQL Server Management Studio (or any other tool), your database is running. If you cannot connect using the sql tool, then something is not right about your database installation.

Then, try turning off your firewall (windows and if you have any anti-virous) and see if that helps.
