Dear All,
I have this doubt since when i got to know that i am not testing perfectly. Does all the testers follow the complete testing process to test an application? I mainly used to concentrate on security testing, in mean time i used neglect to check all the validation messages... I understand that we in our company does not have any document (SRS,BRS or whatsoever) so i tend to make that mistake. Do actually all the testers do complete process of testing? Additional question.... Any one list out the (at least approximately) what all kinds of testing to be done for an application... (web/windows/etc) Regards Jeevan |

Re: Total testing...
hmm now this is a difficult and testing question for me....
for an application security testing, testing for validations, testing for design issues, testing for database , testing for load, stress, performance... these are all the kinds of testings applied on the application (at least in my view)... do we have any ideal list of testings? |

Very few testers follow the process. Keep your eye mainly on Usability and functionality testing. Rest you need not to worry so much. Enjoy your work and reply still any query. Brijesh.

Re: Total testing...
hi jvirala & all,
I also have same confusion as jvirala as in most of the small companies like one i'm working in there are 1-2 testers. So for any one project each tester has to complete the responsibilities like requirement review, understanding the bussiness logic along with the team, test case designing, test case execution. now this test case execution may include usability, GUI, functional, few aspects of security testing, etc. so that we can have a good quality release of the given application. I'm really curious to know what kind of process is followed in the big companies where there are separate teams for testing. Whether any particular tester is asked to concentrate on a particular aspect like security/UI/.. Or whether he is asked to do testing modulewise. Or is it also related to testing scope? |
