LoadRunner Does Not take User Input

Hi,

I am using LoadRunner tool to record some actions on a web page. The action includes enter User Name and Password. After recording I see the user name and password I enter are presented in the LoadRunner script, however when I replay the script the User Name and Password are NOT entered by the script so the replay test is failed. I tried the same process with other web page such as yahoo email and still see the same failure.

I've already search through google but could not find the answer. I appreciate if you could help me out. I am using version 9.10

Thanks,

/Kevin

Re: LoadRunner Does Not take User Input

Look like not many people encounter this Log In issue with LR !?
I would like to ask you all a favour, could you please use LR to record a script that requires a Log In into your application or a web page and replay that script to see if the script can pass the Log In step?
I appreciate if you can let me know since I wonder if there is anything wrong in my LR set up.

Thanks in advance,
/Kevin

Re: LoadRunner Does Not take User Input

Hey Kevin,

2 quick things - Are you trying to use values other than those you had used while recording the script. Incase yes, check whether your parameterization is done correctly - in sense the mapping of UserID and Password to the respective data columns in Datafile.

Incase you are not using Parametertization, but playing back the script with the same recorded values, I would suggest playback your script with Extended Logging enabled. This would depict the values that are being passed to the specified UserID and Password.

Also when you state that LR does not pick up the specified Input, does your Login Transaction fail? I would suggest use a lr_start_transaction within which you would record your Login procedure.

Please post your findings and we can find a solution.

Cheers.

Re: LoadRunner Does Not take User Input

Hi Umesh,

Thank you very much for your response.

I tried your suggestions and saw that the userID and PW was sent to the server however the server is responded with a "/noop" or "<> Secssion Expired <>" web page and any subsequent step was failed with a browser message message "This program cannot display the web page".......
I also tried you suggestions with "Replay as recorded", Correlation, run as process,.... and still see the same failure.
I am using Internet Explore 7

Thanks,
/Kevin

Re: LoadRunner Does Not take User Input

I am now able to replay the LR log in script by changing the Record Option --> Port Mapping --> WinInet Level Data

However my application cannot down load all the pictures I needed, probably due to this recording option set up. Will keep you posted if any news.

Thanks,
/Kevin
