DB2 Cursor Fetch Error

In the COBOL-DB2 program, a cursor is defined to handle multiple rows returned by the SQL. Cursor logic is defined, opened, fetched & closed properly. If the SQL returns 10 records....cursor fetched 5 records successfully and at the six record...it was giving the error like cursor has to be open to fetch the record. What may be the problem? Please help me out.
