Re: Browsing Internet without Default Gateway

Hello Mohit ,
What is the concept , I use a DHCP connection and neither do I need to specify a DNS Server nor IP Address , The DHCP client on WinXP takes it from the ADSL Router , which has a set of predefined address , usually starting lke 192.168.1.2 to the range specified .

Could you please , detail your answer more .

Regards,
Mallampalli Yasaswi Srinivas

Re: Browsing Internet without Default Gateway

Yes that's right. If you have dhcp server, then no need of static gateway. You can add it to your dhcp server & all host will get this gateway. But the question was to access internet without gateway. So if we have a lan network, then there is no need of gateway, but client can access internet via proxy server . Feel free to mail me if any issue....... Thanks & regards mohit sharma
