    We can't change the severity. Only priority can be changed.

    Severity Remains Constant,since the impact is on the application and not on the situation.

    This is a very good question. Yes it can change. After SIT is done and you are about to enter into the UAT we need to triage all the open defects one more time. That time you may increase the severity of one defect from Low to high and stop the UAT start until that is fixed. Also in other way round you may actually decrease the severity of one defect after talking to business and decide to fix it at a later time.
