Puzzle

Hi,
You are the bus driver and 3 people come into the bus and sit down. After the first stop, 1 person leaves the bus while 10 more people come on aboard. Two stops later 5 people leave the bus. And then on the next stop 50 more people come in and sit down. After 8 stops 3 more come in while 1 leaves.

How many people are there on the bus?
Sharmee

Hi Lakshmi84,

Burn 1 candle from Both ends and also burn the 2nd candle from one end.

When the flames on both the sides of the 1st candle meet the time will be exactly 30 mins.

At that time the 2nd candle would have also burnt for 30 mins and 30 mins of its burning time will remain.

At this time burn its other end and when both flames on the 2nd candle meet the time will be

30+15= 45 mins!

So both the candles will burn in 45 minutes

Let me know this is the answer or not....

Thanks & Regards,
Riju.

Hi,

a) 3 people---->3

b)After 1 st stop------>3-1(1 person leaves)=2; && 10+2=12

c)Two stops later----->12-5(5 people leaves the bus)=7

d)Next stop----->7+50(50 people come in)=57

e)After 8 stops --------->57+3(3 come in)=60; && 60-1(1 leaves)=59

But the Question is

How many people are there on the bus?

59+1=60

you need to count yourself - THE BUS DRIVER!

So the answer is 60

Thanks & Regards,
Riju.
