I am always facinated by this whole networking concept and would like to explore it.
Please suggest me how to begin in this field as i have no knowledge of it!

Its a wonderful subject, at the same time difficult and challenging.

I would suggest the following
1> get yourself a PC.
(if you've got good money 1 latest config, 1 low end).
2> Get the network guru books
(A.Tanenbaum, R.Stevens, & install Win & Linux/FreeBSD/NetBSD/opensolaris...)
3> Start typing away to glory....

I wud suggest throw the mouse away too...


Any other suggestions....others?

Networking is too good. As jana05 suggest buy 2 PC or Laptop. one should have high configuration, that can be treated as server. other can be use as client.

There is a another option VMWARE / Virtual PC. You can use it in One PC & U can install Multiple OS in one System. u will get good knowlege soon. Go & start Study from Today.
