Punked by Borland
After a huge effort to use SilkTest with Siebel CRM for regression testing we found that once we finally got a script that would create the very simplest of tests we could never get the script to run more than once or twice before it would crash and burn, followed by troubleshooting and rewrite, followed by another crash and burn after one or two successful runs. It took us months to get it even that far. Final conclusion, in a shop as small as ours it constitutes a maintenance nightmare that is completely untenable. I don't fault the software, it simply isn't suited to our means and environment. i don't want a refund, I simply want Borland to trade our SilkTest licenses which aren't of use to us for SilkCentral licenses which we can use. They absolutely refuse to even consider it. Has anyone else had this kind of difficulty negotiating with them? I'm really stunned. I'm not asking them for anything but a fair trade at no cost to them! If Any ideas? Seriously, I've never encountered this kind of attitude from a vendor before and I'v worked with a lot of them.

Re: Punked by Borland
Hey,
I don't think so any vendors will get back the licenses. Before starting Automation, you should do a feasible study. YOu should get evaluation copy and then you would have purchased.. Also better you can have an expert to deal initially with the application. Do you have service contract with them? I am using Silktest more than 6 years and have automated different kind of applications. I hope the problem might be in your approach for automation. |
