About Manual Testing Rating

Hi Friends,
Recently i go for interview, in that the interviewer ask me one question: Rate yourself for Manual Testing & Performance Testing from 1 to 5. 1 is low & 5 is high.In manual testing i give the rating as 3 then, they ask me why you are rate as 3. I didn't give the answer properly please help me for this
question. How to explain the answer.

for this question you need to explain your work experiences like your error identification and the process, how did you got an error, and your ideas and how did you done research on your application for an error.... these are you need to explain......
