Re: Selection of Testing Tools

As per my knowledge the selection of tools depends on the testing process. There are many types of tools available but all the testing tools not helpful for all type of testing. For example Zephyr(getzephyr dot com) tool it helps to manage all the testing process, like that Mercury, IBM, Test Director.

It depends on client/software requirement and budget of the project.

Re: Selection of Testing Tools

Please do not go with the buzzwords..like Automated tested...QTP tested...Performance tested....Loadrunner certified.

Most of times, We go with these buzzwords.
Generally even if the budget is there we need to cheack and ensure there is really requirements of Automation testing..or performance testing.

Manual process is the core of all testing ,If the manual process passes with 100% satisfactory results then we can go for Automation testing for regression.and again automation testing passes then we can go to performance testing...this is the rule

There is always a but...yes...BUT

if clients wants we can make it without using the above written rule(As customers are always right ...)We need to complete it .There are major risk on that.
1. Some of the cases may be ignored due to unstability.....this results to missing functionality.
2. Without SWOT if we use this, this is loss of time and money.
