How to increase performance in ejb3.0 while persiting 1GB of data?

hi friends,
I am working on ejb3.0 with netBean5.5 ide and Jboss4.0.X as my application server. I am able to insert 1GB of data in Oracle and Postgres database ,but Postgres is taking around 2hrs and Oracle is taking around 8hrs,
i understand it is the problem of oracle structure ,but i want to improve the performance of my application.

I am not using the following:
1)Any kind of transations cmp or bmp.
2) No relation ships OnetoMany or ManytoOne.

thank's in advance..
