as per my view it maily depends upon the functionality of the project and the testing types differs accordingly

generally the testing type sequence are 1.smoke 2.sanity 3.unit 4.integartion
5.functionality 6. security 7.performance etc

Hi ,
The sequence of Functional testing is 1. Unit testing 2. Integration testing. 3. System testing. 4 UAT (User Acceptance testing). if the project is included to conver non functional then we have to branch from step 3 to non functional such as perfomace, Load stress, volume etc. There is NO STANDARDS defined for golden testing in IEEE or in BS. There are some term GOLD BOX Testing. it Overall defines how we test the requiment.

Integration Testing,

System Testing(Smoke testing,Functionality testing,Non Functionality Testing)
*Non Functional Testing includes Usability testing,Performance testing,Load testing,Stress testing,Security testing,Scalabity testing,Realiability testing,Browser-Compatability testing,Configuration testing,Localisation testing and Internalisation testing.

Alpha and Beta Testing,

User acceptance Testing.
