Re: BPT[ Business Process Testing]
Hi rosy,
HP business process testing introduces the concept of reusable business components for test design. This construct drastically reduces your test maintenance and improves efficiency for test creation. It lets you create data-driven manual test libraries in a fraction of the time of traditional test design solutions. To accelerate test automation, the software uses a technology known as “keyword-driven” testing. This next-generation approach to test automation introduces best practices into your test design and gives you a complete, scriptless solution for test design, maintenance, and execution. After you design a manual test case in hp business process testing, it is easy to automate. 1.bpt: a transformation not a technology 2.non-technical “building block” approach to test design 3.reusable components for project acceleration 4.integrated test automation and documentation 5.centralized test maintenance New test creation proccess: 1.in quality center test plan folder right click on subject folder or an existing folder to create a new folder or test. Under test type :select business-process from the drop down list. Enter a name for the test. 2.select components for test a.click on test script tab b.click on select component menu item i).the component pane will be displayed. Ii).drag and drop components in logical order. Last edited by someswararao.taninki; 07-20-2009 at 07:18 AM. Reason: I forgot Proccess of the new test creation |

Re: BPT[ Business Process Testing]
I was working with a client and we had a disagreement on test maintenance. In BPT, the components you create there are based on scripts built in QTP. All the normal things that require thought (like finding the right row of a grid in SAP or table in HTML) have to be done in QTP using script code. If that area of the app changes (with SAP, 20-50 transports or updates a week isn't uncommon), you have to go into QTP to make the changes. He said there was a "where used" capability that allowed you to find the script in QTP that needed to be changed. I always thought that was in BPT and it was at the component level. However, changes like a grid getting more columns that now need to be used to ensure the right row is selected, those still have to be done in QTP and you've got to know which script must be addressed based on which grid you're talking about especially in CRM, SRM or any of the web based, web dyn pro object based or portal based applications. Is that right or has someone seen this capability in QTP? If so, could you let me know exactly how to do these types of changes? Thanks! I might owe him a rootbeer but I'd rather buy him a soda than not know how to do this in QTP where the real work is done.
What am I missing? |
