about installing java

I have installed java i.e jdk1.1.3 but cannot access ,after creating program ,when run on command prompt it displays "javac is not external or internal command" no doubt I have specified correct path

Re: about installing java

Right click on MyComputer icon and go into properties and click on Advanced
then Enviroment Variables and click on New and set this path:

JAVA_HOME C:\jdk1.5.0_14 (As your path where java installed in your system)
path C:\jdk1.5.0_14\bin;

path variable can contains already some path so just put ( ; )and pest C:\jdk1.5.0_14\bin;
