Finally i got offer letter from IBM. it's a great news for me.

In MNC companies, they will perform background checking compulsorily.They will call to your old office and confirm with the concerned person you mentioned in ur resume.Please make sure that they should give correct response about what u mentioned in your resume.

For example:
"To one of my friend it was happened like this, they send one person to his native place to find his character and behaviour without revealing that they are belong to so and so company and after getting correct information then only they absorbed in their office"

After how many days you can expect letter from IBM .I have given interview on July 2nd and i have told that i will get offer letter in a week or within 15 days.
But seeing these post i do not what will happen?
can any one please tell me how long this verification process will take.

I have attended IBM interview on June 14th in Hyderabad(St. Patricks High school Secbad) on Oracle PL/SQL, through Pinakini Technologies. I have cleared the technical round and they said that soon they will intimate me for PDM round. But till now no response. Anyone who attended on the same day as mine and completed PDM round too.....

well...i turned back to this blog after quite a some time ..and there is no status change for me ...i still haven't got my offer ...i can see people who got selected in June and July and bothered abt their offers ..let me tell you guys i am same guy who got selected on May 16 ,2009 and haven't got offer yet...my friend who got selected in Java on Apr,2009 is still waiting for offer...

i agree with quite a few people who have named IBM as highly unprofessional ..I dont understand their attitute man ....there is no mode of communication where we can question IBM for the delay .....and the most frustrating part is they are still hiring (as you keep getting mails from various job portals) for same positions people are due their offers for...
why are they doing this...

today I have three other offers form quite a reputed companies ...but this exprience with IBM was horrible .... ..... stay away from this company guys ....look for better options

Sorry to say but one your own experience only, you should not blame any companies. If you are selected, you should have got that offer letter then and their. Go to that place and ask HR about your offer letter. S/he will help you out for sure.

I am sorry if I offended you by saying something that you didn't like abt IBM.I dont consider this place a right one to to comment if I was selected or not and give you correponding justification.

I was talking just to stress what the whole discussion on this form ir converging to. I understand and completely honor the tag IBM but this whole incident hasn't done any good for its reputation.

I know my other friend who got selected in March,2009 ..got mails form IBM for dcouments like me and there has been no coomunication there after.

Me and my friend has NO doubt about our educational/professional docs provided.

Well NOT getting an offer is no issue or matter of tension for me now as I already have joined ORACLE ...I wrote all this just looking for possibilities if my experience could help other making right decisions...

Guys if after assuring offer letter IBM is taking this long to send the same..how can we trust it honor the offer after providing the document even.(there have been recent cases in TCS where people were not given joining date or got them extended till unknown date, after they resigned from the previous employer)

I cleared tech as well as PDM round + one global round (Onsite call) but still dint get the offer letter

IBM are very bad at getting back to candidates. Years ago I approached a guy from IBM and he interviewed me and said I got the job. I was still looking for other jobs because I don't trust verbal offers. I kept calling him every few days and he said he was just sorting the position out. After a few weeks, still nothing and I ended up taking another job.

Then a few years later I applied for a contract at IBM and they said I had got the job. The agency said that I was to start in 2 days and they were just waiting for the internal approval. Every day I chased the agent and they told me they were chasing IBM. The start date came and went. Nothing, and another offer came through with a different company.

So keep looking until you are sat at a desk. Until you are sat at a desk, have done your first few days work and think the job is right for you, you effectively don't have a job!
