Re: Testability/Testware

Hi Friend,

You can include these information as well

Generally speaking, Testware is a sub-set of software with a special purpose, that is, for software testing, especially for software testing automation. In this sense, automation Testware is designed to be executed on automation frameworks.

Testware is produced by both verification and validation testing methods. Like software, Testware includes codes and binaries as well as test cases, test plan, test report and etc. Testware should be placed under the control of a configuration management system, saved and faithfully maintained.

Re: Testability/Testware

Testability the degree to which a system or component facilitates the establishment of test criteria and the performance of tests to determine whether those criteria have been met [IEEE 90]. Note: Not only is testability a measurement for software, it can also apply to the testing scheme.

Re: Testability/Testware

hi friend..

Testability, a property applying to an empirical hypothesis, involves two components: (1) the logical property that is variously described as contingency, defeasibility, or falsifiability, which means that counterexamples to the hypothesis are logically possible, and (2) the practical feasibility of observing a reproducible series of such counterexamples if they do exist. In short, a hypothesis is testable if there is some real hope of deciding whether it is true or false of real experience. Upon this property of its constituent hypotheses rests the ability to decide whether a theory can be confirmed or falsified by the data of actual experience. It means it can be tested, but it also can be proven wrong later.

In enginerring this refers to the capability of an equipment or system to be tested

testware

Testware is a sub-set of software with a special purpose, that is, for software testing, especially for software testing automation. In this sense, automation Testware is designed to be executed on automation frameworks.

It includes artifacts produced during the test process required to plan, design, and execute tests, such as documentation, scripts, inputs, expected results, set-up and clear-up procedures, files, databases, environment, and any additional software or utilities used in testing. [1]

Testware is produced by both verification and validation testing methods. Like software, Testware includes codes and binaries as well as test cases, test plan, test report and etc. Testware should be placed under the control of a configuration management system, saved and faithfully maintained.

Compared to general software, testware is special because it has:

a different purpose
different metrics for quality and
different users
The different methods should be adopted when you develop testware with what you use to develop general software.

Testware is also referred as test tools in a narrow sense

Thanks
