Re: difference between super, candidate, alternate keys

If u add other attributes of a table to the primary key then that combination would be a super key.
Any attribute or a set of attributes which can uniquely identify a tuple or row in a table is called candidate key. There may be more than one candidate key in a table but among them we choose one to be primary key.
Any key other than primary key is known as alternate key.
