XMl Checkpoint

hi friends

Two types exists where we can add XML checkpoint one is through the application and another one is through resource. What is the major difference between adding the checkpoint either through resource or through the application..

According to me there are two possible methods to add XML checkpoint, that's it ..

Is there any advantages or disadvantages adding checkpoint through resource and application

Let me know friends i am waiting...
