Step Generator is used to Script in Keyword view, IT has limitation like Control Structure & code not available through IDE(Descriptive Programming) are not listed Step Generator

hi friend..
ok thanks a lot friend.. when i click on user name and place the cursor and then click on step generator and below the arguments column i have i specify the value and click on ok. The following step is displayed below the item column field name user name is found and below the operation column set and below the value column ABC and finally below the documentation column it is displayed as Enter ABC in user name edit box.. but already the same step is displayed while recording in the keyword view.. i am confused i just wanted to know if needed we can use the step generator to list out any required functionality.. am i right.. if wrong then tell me where i am going wrong Thanks Deepasree |

In a NutShell Step Generator is for business user's who are not comfortable with VBScript.....they just want to work on the test Object(listed in step generator)........hence a recorded script can be generated by them...

In the step generator there are two types of operations 1. Test object operations 2. Run time operations If i click on run time operations the operations accept is displayed by default and then return value check box is checked by default and by clicking on ok a row is inserted named object in the keyword view and while running the test result is displayed and no value is seen near the step 1 2 3 4 userName.Object Done date and time here in the result tab nothing shown please let me know why???? if u can't get the required info please check out the attachment i have given the single step which i got through result generated at the end of the test Thanks Deepasree |
