Re: Qtp
Hi, to start off, I am not exactly sure as to what you meant by L server
.Presuming you meant license server - a license server basically controls the number of client licenses/users that can access the specified tool. Qtp basically uses 2 kinds of licensing - seat and concurrent licensing. A seat license is limited to the machine on which qtp resides. In short it is a standalone license. This is configured using a combination of the following -
We have to request for the mercury key. The seat license for a machine cannot be used against another machine. In order to use the same license for multiple qtp machines, we would need to apply for a concurrent license. Concurrent licenses generally reside on a central location and various qtp clients reference these for license key. A single license server is created using qtp license server installation setup. This generally includes setup files for sentinel license manager, win9x license manager and winnt license manager. We would need to map the IP address of license server while being asked for the license code. Note : I have not mentioned the costs involved in procuring either of the licenses. You could ascertain these for mercury site. Regards,

Re: Qtp
Hi umesh thank you for the info given. actually this question is asked in HP client interview.
What they mean and wht i understood from them is its L-server HDD5 DDR Linux System media server management. because HP is fully involved in Networking na.. so i thought that. This is not related to QTP i know. but in the middle of the conversation he struck me up in this question. |
