Do's and Dont's in a HR Interview
There are a number of things that you will want to avoid during the HR interview process. While some of these things are directed at the interviewer, the other things are directed at the applicant. If interviewers fail to follow the proper procedures throughout the interview process, it could lead to problems with the company, and they could lose the chance to hire a qualified applicant. If you are the applicant, and you fail to do the right things during the interview, you will damage your chances of being hired for the position. If you are the interviewer, you will want to avoid asking questions that are related to the religion, race, or sexual orientation of the applicant. If you are interviewing an applicant who brings up these things, politely direct them back to the main topic of the interview. The only time that you should ask applicants about their age is if the position requires them to be an adult. If it is not directly related to the job, you should never ask about the age of the applicant under any circumstances. All questions which are related to the race of ethnicity of an individual should be avoided during the interview process. Questions about religion should be avoided as well.
