Is there way to record short payments or over payments or deductions in Receivables without Trade Management?

I could see that AR can create claims for short payments or deductions or over payments by implementing Trade Management. But isn't there a way to record these deductions/claims and resolve them through AR directly without going the Trade Management route.

If this is not possible, what is the alternate solution to record and track claims/deductions (captured during Cash Application) in AR?

Any insight would be very helpful.

Thank you,
