What is Satellite Radio

If you listen to your radio on the way to work, in the morning or whenever you are in your car, you should check out satellite radio. Satellite radio has gone mainstream. Millions of people are subscribing to satellite radio each year in order to receive commercial free music, hot talk personalities and special sporting events.

There are two main satellite radio services. XM and Sirius. While they both deliver the same music, each brand has their own talk show personalities. So depending on whether you like a certain talk show personality will usually determine which brand you choose. Both brands of satellite radio charge the same monthly fee of $12.99 and a satellite radio usually costs anywhere from $50 to over $200.

Many people usually have a satellite radio installed in their cars so that they can listen to music instead of 20 minutes of commercials each hour. Satellite radio is actually following the same model as cable, so you hear uncensored music and talk live.

Most car companies are adding satellite radio’s as an extra option in most new cars that they sell. These radios come with a free trial offer. So, If you are sick of commercials or just want to hear your favorite radio personality choose satellite radio.
