Yes of course because excavation level is more accurate of what we can do or much better to use.,meaning to say is a comprehensive mechanical tools to determines the "no".,of calculus "in re".,accordance to what we are measured for,at is the "no".,of level is a basic,technical knowledge to the size of what ever reason as well

No. Because Total Station readings are depending with reflection of rays from Total station to prism/target and back to total station which can be affected by various factors including Temperature changes, Wind. Also Prism Rods base is very sharp in such away that it can sink and lead to wrong readings of levels of excavations
