What is the minimum number of loaves of bread required to identify a single slow eating rat among a pack of 12 rats, given that the other rats are trained to eat at the same rate and the bread loaves to be used are identical.

Answer is Four.
Make 3 groups of 4 rats. Give 1 bread each to two group.note the time for non default rat group.identify the defaulter rat group. Divide it into two group of two. Give 1 bread to 1 group. Check whether the time consumed is doube of that noted earlier. If not that is the defaulter rat group. Again give 1 bread to one of the rat. by checking time, you can identify the defaulter rat.
